TELUS Ocean

Victoria, British Columbia

Anchored in its urban context, the building’s triangular form has taken shape, embracing its flatiron site and culminating in a commanding ‘prow’ that reflects the city’s coastal identity. The design draws both literal and symbolic inspiration from the ocean that will be expressed through its material palette, lighting, a water feature, and media installations. A thematic sawtooth glass façade, now being installed, will provide solar shading while referencing the motion of rolling waves. Upon completion, TELUS Ocean will offer generous, light-filled tenant spaces with access to nature and valuable views of Greater Victoria and the ocean—further strengthening its deep connection to place.

Flynn’s prefabricated high-performance system Speedwall has helped meet client’s project schedule and an impressive performance target of TEDI 19. Curved curtainwall panels were 3D laser scanned and custom designed in partnership with TSC Inc. to execute the desired effect on the building.
