Sited along the Fraser River, the ROO is clearly visible when flying into Vancouver. The 33,750m2 facility includes a 400m refrigerated track and features one of the longest clear spans in North America. Run-off from the roof is used as grey water for irrigation and plumbing. Polycarbonate panels along the South elevation provide diffused day-lighting. The Oval was built to achieve LEED Silver certification and won an award of excellence from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
