Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame | Calgary

This high profile project is located below Canada’s Olympic Park ski and bobsled runs making the roof logo highly visible to the athletes and spectators. To the north of the building are the offices of Winsport, 4 hockey rinks including an Olympic size venue and also the High Performance Training facility for the Canadian Olympic athletes (all Flynn Projects).

The fund raising for this project took many years of effort and when the stunning original concept design was reviewed it was quickly realized that there was a significant short fall of funds. The Flynn Canada team worked together with Stantec Architects and Cana Construction Management to reduce cost while maintaining a structure of high visual impact. Flynn installed the complete building envelope including the membrane roofing c/w logo, the metal roofing, glazing, foam panels and the light boxes.

The end result of the team approach is a stunning 40,000 square foot tribute to the Country’s athletic achievements that was completed on time and on budget.
