Cladder Production


Job Purpose

Fabricate and install architectural sheet metal products and applications, such as Steel Roofing and Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Architectural Cladding Systems, Composite Aluminum Wall panels and Custom Zinc or Copper applications. Including: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, or straighten sheet metal as well as operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Shape metal material over anvils, blocks, or other forms, using hand tools
  • Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components into products
  • Select gauges or types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications
  • Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills
  • Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications

    • Requires working outdoors
    • Must work in good and poor weather conditions
    • Work can be delayed due to extreme weather conditions, such as; extreme heat and cold, rain and ice
  • Hazardous materials:
    • Solvents, sealing agents and their vapors
    • Hazardous noise and vibration (when using power tools and mobile equipment)
    • Man-made mineral fibers (i.e. asbestos, lead)
    • Dust particles and exhaust fumes
    • Bird and rodent refuse
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
    • Steel toed boots (nonskid, with 6-inch uppers)
    • Hardhat
    • Ear Plugs
    • Welding goggles, welding shield
    • Heat-resistant gloves, Welding gloves
    • Long sleeve shirt and long pants with no cuffs
    • Full body harness
    • Fall arrest lanyard
    • Flexible anchorage line
    • Tower rescue kits
    • Facemask and/or respirators

Physical Requirements

Must perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and core muscles as well as activities that require moving the entire body, such as; climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.


  • Climb ladders or scaffolding;
  • Install or Repair sheeting or flashing;
  • Move or fit heavy objects;
  • Clean work areas.
